Description

A clear acrylic house for one young jumping spider. The front door drops open on a hinge at the bottom, so you reach in low and leave the silk under the slanted roof alone.

It stands 5.7 in (14.5 cm) tall on a 3.1 x 3.1 in (8 x 8 cm) floor. Both side walls have ventilation slots in their upper half, and a latch at the top keeps the door shut. Soil, plants and animal are not included.

How to read a size

11.8 in tall, 7.9 × 7.9 in floor (30 × 20 × 20 cm). The first number is always the height. It decides who can live in it: climbers want height, ground dwellers want floor.

Tall or low

Climbers live up: a jumping spider hangs her hammock near the top and a mantis hangs upside down to molt, so they get a tall enclosure with the door low on the front. Ground dwellers live down: isopods and snails want floor space, a deep layer of damp substrate and a lid that closes well. A young spider (a sling) is easier to watch and to feed in a smaller enclosure.
