Description

A clear acrylic enclosure that is wider than it is tall, for isopods, snails and other animals that live on the floor. The lid flips open on top and closes with a magnetic latch, and the walls are vented along their top edge.

M has a 7.9 x 4.7 in (20 x 12 cm) floor and stands 4.7 in (12 cm) tall, L has 9.8 x 5.9 in (25 x 15 cm) and 5.9 in (15 cm), XL has 11.8 x 7.9 in (30 x 20 cm) and 5.9 in (15 cm). Substrate, leaf litter and animals are not included.

How to read a size

11.8 in tall, 7.9 × 7.9 in floor (30 × 20 × 20 cm). The first number is always the height. It decides who can live in it: climbers want height, ground dwellers want floor.

Tall or low

Climbers live up: a jumping spider hangs her hammock near the top and a mantis hangs upside down to molt, so they get a tall enclosure with the door low on the front. Ground dwellers live down: isopods and snails want floor space, a deep layer of damp substrate and a lid that closes well. A young spider (a sling) is easier to watch and to feed in a smaller enclosure.
